Post  Admin on Mon Apr 20, 2009 5:08 am

If all military forces are stopped, there would be no wars, correct?

But if there is no military harm, then there would be no terrorists. All countries which have military forces ended up in wars, people were killed and properties were lost. Countries which don't have a military force don't end up in wars, people live peacefully and safely. Examples are Switzerland and Sweden, every of their citizens have military training in the age of 18, and every houses have weapons. In case of war, the whole country is a unite military force. They didn't get involve in any of the war, even WWI or WWII.

I think military force should be disbanded in every country. Because if there is not military force, there would be no war. People will live in peace.

A world without a military?

Post  Admin on Mon Apr 20, 2009 3:28 pm

So we should get rid of all our military forces? Even if world leaders agree to "be friends", what's to stop some grass-roots level organization of rebels from arming themselves and invading a local town? See Plato's conundrum of the "Prisoner's dilemma". It proves that we cannot rely on the good will of others, and both prevent and prepare for war.

I think it would be lovely to disband military force
that creates a world that is not likely to have war
when no one has guns and weapons
if you want to fight
you could only fight by discussing and negotiating
no one would die because of war

I think military forces should not be disbanded. Suppose that military forces are disbaned, there would still be small or big groups plotting evil conduct. And innocent people might be in danger. There are always bad people in the world and military forces will needed for us for a country's safty although it is a main requisite to make a war.

Even if all military forces were disbanded, this would not stop the conflicts between different minds. It is not simply that without the army, there will be no war. There will still be war. Some societies can not work things out with their government. They do not agree with what the government is doing, then conflicts begin, and terrorists can still be out there. It is just quite that simple to start a war, a civil war. Without any form of armies to stop this, wars will still exist in the society. Peace will not come even if there are no military forces. We should look forward, not turn back and say it shouldn't have been there in the beginning.

Should all military forces be disbanded?

Post  TOP on Tue Apr 21, 2009 5:12 pm

I think all military forces should not be disbanded because if that happened, then some group of people could try to revolt and raise a disturbance in society so the innocent people could get hurt and damaged from them. The reason why we need the military forces is to prevent the troubles and also for citizen’s safety. Therefore, the military forces should not be disbanded.

Yes!Certainly!
All the countries should do that. Then the mothers of sons won't worry about their sons' early deaths anymore and all of us can live in peace. Military forces are waste of human resourses and money.

if it is banned, there will be no war. Maybe, but this can bring so many bad consequences for the natures of humans are not only good but also very bad. The banning on military forces cannot allow countries to invade countries but what about the bad individuals? They can destroy the society too

There are gun shootings every night and day in the U.S. Why is that? It's because everybody is allowed to have guns. It is good for their protection, however, if people didn't have guns at the first place, they won't be shooting any people. It is the same for militaries. Imagine a country without a military force having a conflict with another country. No matter how big the conflict is, the two countries will never end up having a war since one of the countries does not have a military force. So, the conflict will be resolved by talking.

I think its best if the world gets to the point that the countries get together as groups, then eventually under one supreme rule. Under that government, only the police forces are present. There will be no war, no conflict, because everything is under one government.

The terrorists usually attack due to some sort of disagreement with the country's government, not because of the military. The military protects the government because it is the government that is attacked. Without protection, wouldn't everybody have the sudden power to overthrow any country's government? I don't like war, but war was what spurred the U.S. economy back to life from the Great Depression. Human nature is not always nice, if there is nothing to scare people away from attacks, there will be no more limits. The military protects the government and your country as a whole just like the police or the locks on your door protect you. You cannot say that war has stopped. What about the ongoing war in Iraq and Afghanistan? They recently sent 21,000 troops to Afghanistan, which also happens to be the destination and future of somebody very very dear to me. The U.S. were allied with the terrorists and trained them and provided them with weapon. The U.S. government angered them, used them, turned them into enemies through the use of the media. They led the terrorists to commit attacks such as the 9/11. If the military didn't exist, who would be there to give their lives up for and protect you. Gun shootings are a problem of the law, people don't kill people, guns kill people. People who aren't trained or educated who own guns are the cause of shootings, not the military. The usage of guns should only be restricted to the military.
