Should there be a death penalty?

It's done in nature, isn't it?

There should not be death penalty. The reason is that death penalty is degrading and inhuman. The criminal will not have chance to redeem their guilt and therefore, to be a better citizen. In many cases, we many people who are innocent are victims of this cruel practice.

Do you know how prisons get their money? From federal tax dollars! So, when you say that there should be no death penalty, you are agreeing to pay for the prisoner to spend the rest of his life in jail. You pay for his bedsheets, meals and clothes. Is that fair to you?

Instead we should increase the minimum level of having death penalty. It would keep people in order. For example, in Singapore, there is a death sentence for carrying drugs, so people would thrill and dare not to bring drugs into the country.

I think there should be a death penalty.
Especially for murderers.
Do you think it would be fair to let the murderer live when he/she killed someone? (or more than one person)
Shouldn't the murderer pay for what he/she did?

There should be a death penaly. When people commit a crime, they need a punishment. But if a person commited a murder, what kind of punishment will compensate the one who got killed? And exept for some exeptional cases, the murderes usually have psychic problems so the recurrance rate is high. These people should be dead for the other's safety.

There should be death penalty. This is a cruel world. People are murdered and killed in many ways and this seem to be a fact that would exist forever. Different reasons coming from different directions to one main matter, taking away a life. People, such as terrorist, kill others for political reasons. Robbers kill the house owner so that they can take the money and valuable possession. Some people kill others just because of hatred and a moment of confusion mixed with anger. Having death penalty is a way to deter people with the attention of committing a crime. With death penalty on the list of punishment, these people would have better understanding about what they are intending to do. They should anticipating the consequences of the actions they are going to make. Because what they do is cruel, cruel punishment should be made to warn them.

Death is the end. No matter what reason you may have, taking a life is a sin. Dying is the worst method to atone for any sins.
If you kill a murderer, will the victims come back to life? Not only that, you become a murderer yourself.

The criminals can't live in the same world with innocent people. Then the innocent people would get more troubles. Especially for the murderers. Even if they said they feel sorry for people who they killed already, dead people cannot be alive again. And we don't know whether the criminals will do again or not.

Yes, there should be a death penalty. Even though some people say it's dehumanizing, it is necessary sometimes. First of all, there should be an example of what is going to happen if a person does a cruel thing. Also, as someone posted above, jails are runned by the taxes we pay. Why would people pay for others who've become prisoners after doing bad things?

Death penalty is necessary. Sometimes a guilt is too serious to redeem. How can you say death penalty is inhumane and degrading? What about homicides, raping cases etc.? Isn't that inhumane? And I don't agree when you say that criminal cannot live in the same world as innocent people. No one in this world is innocent, except new born babies. There are bunches of types of criminals, and some of them did not commit their crime on purpose. Those are the types that deserve a chance to redeem their crimes. But criminals commit their crime on purpose such as smuggling drugs, killing people on purpose (even women, elders, and children), they do not deserve a chance to redeem. They kill others, then the punishment of death is a worthy punishment for them, to know the feeling of being killed, leaving your family behind. If death penalty is inhumane, degrading, then killers are not? Life has rules, nature has rules, human has rules. You can't run away from what you did without a worthwhile punishment. And death penalty is one of them.

it should be. That is the best punishment for the worst crime in this world. Just look at this, the government can send army troops to other countries just like US sent soldiers to Iraq, and it's like a hazardous game in which the soldiers don't know whether or not they will die. Since the government have the right to do that, in the purpose of stopping the war and save millions of men, the same thing goes for the death penalty
